Are you in need of aching joint relief?
I turned 45 years old this past July. And with my history of accidents, injuries, and what-not, I’ve got quite a lot of aches and pains. We’re talking years of aching joints, nerve pain & muscle stiffness.
I took prescription medications for a while, until I decided I didn’t want to become a total zombie later on in life with the continuous increase in dosage. Then I took to over the counter pain relievers, and that destroyed my stomach to the point I can no longer take them. So, I had to find other ways to ease my discomfort.
No, I didn’t turn to alcohol.
I started researching natural remedies and found that this combination of essential oils can really help when you’re stiff and sore. As far as natural home remedies for muscle and joint relief, this is one of my go-to solutions. Plus, it smells really good!
Why Does This Work For Aching Joint Relief?
Peppermint oil is commonly used as a topical ointment for itchiness, headaches, and muscle aches. It contains menthol, which is great for cooling sore achy muscles and joints. And, it has anti-inflammatory properties to help with… you know, inflammation.
Eucalyptus oil also has anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to help with arthritis, the flu, and even wounds. It also has a cooling effect, which feels amazing to aching joints and muscles. So, when combined and added to a carrier oil, these two essential oils work wonderfully for aching joint relief!
Fun Fact: Pumpkins can also help fight inflammation, so you can also try eating more of them to help with aching joints!
What else can you do for aching joints & muscles?
Other things I’ve found helpful for easing aching muscles and joints are:
- applying ice packs wrapped in a thin towel.
- soaking in a tub with a couple scoops of Epsom salts.
- drinking more water
- drinking more electrolytes
- taking Turmeric daily
